The volunteers of the Yammine Foundation were activated very early last Sunday, to begin the work of collecting plastic in the first 10K race of the Gatorade Circuit that took place in Caracas.
Sarkis Yammine, spokesperson of the Foundation, explained that the team of the institution was distributed in different points of Alfredo Sadel de las Mercedes square, the arrival point of the street race, and disposed of waste collection modules, to raise awareness about the importance of recycling and environmental care.
Yammine said that recycling is a labor that requires little effort and generates a great impact on the environment when all citizens are involved in its practice.
He pointed out that the Yammine Foundation has supported various environmental initiatives, such as the case of the “Our Beaches” project aimed at encouraging recycling in the Venezuelan coast.
Last Sunday, a total of 17 kilograms of plastic was collected by the volunteers of the Yammine Foundation. “We have the motto to Sow the Future and nothing better to prove it than preserving our planet,” said Sarkis Yammine.
