The Fundación Yammine / Yammine Foundation delivered 268 school kits to children between first and sixth grade of the Bárbaro Rivas School, in the Baruta municipality of Miranda state.
“The children received a school kit, a backpack with school supplies for the next year´s school period as part of the “Sembrando el Futuro / Sow the Future” recycling plan. We are making an investment in the future of Venezuela, “said Sarkis Yammine, spokesperson for the Foundation.
The work that the Bárbaro Rivas School did was important. During just one month, the educational community managed to collect 533 Kg of recyclable materials, among them: 278.65 Kg of glass; 86.83 Kg. Of plastic and 167.52 Kg of cardboard and paper.
“We believe in the country and through education and environmental care we provide our contribution,” said Yammine.
The school´s principal, Keyla Avellaneda, emphasized that this is the best way to encourage children to care for the environment.
“The fact that today the whole population has been awarded will make all the children next year motivated. They already know that these are not gifts, but they must earn it, but the incentive they take is too much, “said Avellaneda, who explained that the way in which the Yammine Foundation has directed the program makes the Children earn by their own efforts, with the delivery of recyclable material, supplies that will serve them for their academic and sports development.
The principal says that this program helps children to improve their training as holistic people, aware of the environment that surrounds them and how they can improve it.
“I congratulate the Fundación Yammine / Yammine Foundation, I hope they continue, and still have the means to incorporate more schools and that we all manage to focus on what is the process of recycling and conservation of the environment,” she said.
